I worked in the corporate world for 10 years, and within that time I have managed people, delivered marketing campaigns and corporate events, and facilitated employee wellbeing. I am no stranger when it comes to searching for purpose and passion. Despite finding some job satisfaction and success, I often felt a lack of fulfilment. The 9-5 days and a long commute didn’t allow me the flexibility and freedom I craved. Over time, this lead me to feel unhappy and frustrated in my work and consequently in life. I reached the point where I didn’t think a step up the career ladder would be the solution as I no longer resonated with the corporate world. Eventually I got a wake up call (which is a long story!) to do something completely different; I wanted to make a positive impact (no matter how small) and I desired a lifestyle change. So I embarked on my own career change journey and pursuit for passionate work.

I discovered the Japanese concept of ikigai, and how you can live your life and career through, 1. what you love, 2. what you are good at, 3. what the world needs, whilst 4. you are rewarded financially. So I went on my quest to find my ‘ikigai’. Translated to English it roughly means "thing that you live for" or "the reason for which you wake up in the morning". I remember how it felt like a lonely journey in the beginning and it was only when I worked with a coach that I finally felt supported and I saw real change. This is why I am so passionate about helping others through the transition; I discovered it can be a really exciting journey and doesn’t have to be the stressful one you may envisage.

I have been coaching people professionally and personally most of my adult life. When I knew this was my true passion I re-trained as a life coach, gained my certified status shortly after graduating and transformed my career within a year. Alongside my coaching business I freelance for The Academy of Leadership Coaching & NLP (ALCN), who are dedicated to the training and support of coaches and leaders globally. I love the variety this role brings and it ensures I keep growing, whilst allowing me to connect to other coaches and coaching practice worldwide.

One great thing about finding myself unhappy in jobs is that it led me to discover my love of travel; I have taken long breaks to explore the world and live in other countries, which I am very grateful for. I love to engage with different cultures and appreciate how different people connect; it’s why I love to work internationally (and from anywhere).

I am passionate about supporting women, as studies have shown we are so averse to failure, that we are unlikely to take the risks required to reach fulfilment, whilst our male counterparts are very willing! Sound familiar? I want to challenge this, I didn’t get to where I am today without facing my fears and taking risks; and it was most definitely worth it. I’m an advocate of women openly supporting one another, collaborating and lifting each other up.

My own version of success looks like; morning yoga, working from the comfort of my home or favourite cafe, connecting with inspiring clients and working on heart-centred business projects, travelling and holidaying, reading and personal development, vegetarian cooking and spending quality time with my partner and loved ones. I would like to include ‘walking my dog’ one day; something I’m currently working on! All the above pretty much sums me up as a person too.

I have never felt so on-purpose and passionate about what I do, so whether it’s finding crystal clarity, a new role, a side-hustle or a new business, I’ve supported women like you to confidently transition into meaningful work that allows them to thrive and I’d love to support you too. If you want to get to know me more personally, please schedule a complimentary chemistry call with me and we can chat.

Is it time to start feeling excited about work again?
